There are many websites online created to deceive you and they come in many different forms. Before email marketing was so specialized and in demand there weren’t too many fraudulent sites selling false email addresses or selling email lists that were created from emails that haven’t been given permission for use. These days, the fraudulent email lists are becoming more prevalent because of the increasing demand and unfortunately too many people are now victims or will be in the future.

These email lists do not help marketing campaigns but hinder them. Often, businesses with good reputations end up with negative feedback because they are using email addresses from these lists but the recipients do not want these emails. Not only is the business spending money on useless lists and wasting time on a bad campaign, but the business will then have to go into an online reputation management mode because of these emails.

It is important that any business owner check the origin of the list and the background of the company before buying or renting these lists. It could be the business that is at stake. It is worth the extra time and effort just to ensure that you have every part of a good campaign including the list – your business deserves it.
